My whole goal, since the end of my sophomore year, was to become a Speech Language Therapist. At that time I barely thought that I would get into the undergrad program, let alone the graduate program. When I got into the undergrad program I was overjoyed. I seriously danced around my apartment and even the campus for days. I was good, I had found my major and I loved it. I figured everything would be good.
Well, I got into the program, but as soon as I actually started the classes they started telling us we wouldn't get into grad school. I started freaking, my grades in college have never been all that great, just average. So, I started this weird cycle of I'll get it, No I won't, Yes I will. I felt like a girl picky the petals of a flower trying to see if a guy liked me. This time though it was if I was good enough to continue my education.
To make this short, I wasn't. I didn't get any anywhere. I thought I would be embarrassed by that, but after tons of tears and way to much stress, I am okay with it. I plan on reapplying for Fall 2011 and to more schools this time and hopefully I can pull it off this time.
In the meantime, I'll be working for the mouse. Yep, I am going to joining the masses at DisneyWorld. At first I wasn't too excited. Right now, I can't wait. I am super excited to live and work at Disney World...Wait I skipped something...I forgot to mention that I'll be working for the mouse through the Walt Disney World College Program, which entails earning, living, and learning at the Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fl.
What will I be doing? Well, I will be a vacation planner. Sounds exciting, right? Hmm...I'm pretty sure I'll be sitting behind the window selling tickets. It's a job. I would have liked to be a Bibbity bobbity boutique hostess, but I applied for the program last minute on a whim. So, alas, I will be one of the first people you see as you enter the park.
While in Orlando, I hope to network some within Disney and outside. I still want to be Speech-Language Pathologist, so I need to find a place to volunteer some of time. Hopefully, I can do that.
That was a weird first post, but that's pretty much my story. I'll probably post some more, when I'm not busy. So, probably over the next few weeks. I'll be in Orlando on the 19th...not too far off.
